Men's Reproductive Health Curriculum: Section I - Introduction to Men's Reproductive Health Services (REVISED)
This text is designed to provide health care workers with the skills and sensitivity needed to work with male clients and provide men’s reproductive health services. It contains information that health care workers may use when initiating, providing, or expanding a men’s reproductive health services program. After introducing some general concepts about the delivery of men’s reproductive health services, the text explains male sexual and reproductive anatomy and physiology, sexuality, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and management of a men’s reproductive health services program. In addition to information, the text contains diagrams, charts, and other graphic materials that may be adapted for use at a facility that offers men’s reproductive health services. (2008)

The trainer’s resource book is designed to accompany the Introduction to Men’s Reproductive Health Services for use in a training workshop aimed at developing or strengthening the capacity of health care staff to deliver quality reproductive health services to men. The course emphasizes the information needed to encourage men to use reproductive health services and to help providers work effectively with men on issues related to reproductive health and sexuality, including women’s reproductive health issues and gender concerns. The course can be adapted for use with those who need only reinforcement or updating of previous trainings related to this topic. (2008)

Needs Assessment Package for Male Engagement Programming
For many years, assumptions have been made about boys and men when it comes to their health—that they are doing well and have fewer needs than women and girls. In addition, it has often been assumed that men and boys are difficult to work with, aggressive, and unconcerned with their health. Health care providers may perceive men as the perpetrators of violence against women, against other men, and against themselves, without stopping to understand how the socialization of boys and men encourages this violence. Worldwide, the behavior of many adult and adolescent men puts them and their partners at risk of HIV infection. Engaging men more extensively in HIV prevention has a tremendous potential to reduce women's risk of HIV infection. New research and perspectives are calling for a more careful understanding of how men and boys are socialized, what they need in terms of healthy development, and how health educators and others can assist them in more appropriate ways. EngenderHealth/The ACQUIRE Project and Promundo )a Brazilian non-governmental organization with expertise in gender, sexuality and the prevention of violence against children, youth and women) have developed this package for use by individuals, organizations, and donors interested in carrying out a needs assessment to identify gaps in male engagement programming related to HIV and AIDS prevention, care, treatment, and support, in order to develop relevant and effective programs and/or policies for engaging men in HIV and AIDS. Engaging Men in HIV and AIDS at the Service Delivery Level: A Manual for Service Providers
Designed for trainers of health workers, this manual offers skills-building sessions on developing more “male-friendly” health services. Utilizing participatory and experiential activities, the manual examines attitudinal and structural barriers that inhibit men from seeking HIV and AIDS services (both from the client and from the provider perspective), as well as strategies for overcoming such barriers.  The manual is designed for all workers in a health care system, from frontline staff and clinicians, to the administrative, operational and outreach workers. (2008)

Engaging Men at the Community Level

This interactive manual offers master trainers working with community-based health outreach workers and gender activists means for mobilizing community members to take action related to HIV, AIDS, and gender. Following a brief section linking male gender norms to negative health outcomes, the manual offers numerous strategies for community engagement for change, such as conducting a needs assessment, organizing marches and rallies, and engaging theatre practitioners, among others. Utilizing an ecological model linked to the formation of community action teams (CATs), the manual offers strategies to reach various community members for actual and sustained change specific to HIV, AIDS, and men.
